Hyams Publishing is a publisher of compact, concise and comprehensive beach guidebooks for the South Coast of NSW and the Northern Rivers.
Hyams Publishing is a family-owned business operating since 2007 on the beautiful South Coast of NSW. After running an advertising agency in Canberra for many years, husband and wife team, Peter and Manuela Henry, decided to make a ‘seachange’ and move to the South Coast. They soon noticed that there was a need for someone to produce a comprehensive guide to the amazing beaches of the South Coast so, with encouragement from the local Shoalhaven Tourist Bureau, set about producing a beach guidebook.
This first beach guidebook ‘Beaches of Jervis Bay and the Shoalhaven’ sold out within a year, so it was quickly updated and reprinted along with other titles covering other South Coast regions and subsequently Byron Bay and the Northern Rivers. With several reprints and 25,000+ copies sold, the beach guidebook series is one of the most loved guidebooks in NSW.
Each guidebook took about a year to produce as every beach had to be visited, photographed and carefully researched. All design, copywriting and photography (except for Mogo Zoo animal photos) was done in-house. Several of the beach guidebook titles are also available in iBook form and downloadable on the Apple platform.
